England defender of Ghanaian heritage, Josh Acheampong, made a notable appearance for Chelsea in their emphatic 5-0 victory over Barrow AFC in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

Acheampong, a rising star in the Blues' ranks, was included in the squad for the Round of 32 but did not start the game.

His opportunity came in the 63rd minute when manager Enzo Maresca brought him on to replace Axel Disasi.

Despite limited game time, the young defender impressed during his nearly 30-minute stint, contributing to a solid defensive effort that helped Chelsea maintain a clean sheet.

Chelsea's attacking prowess was on full display, with Christopher Nkunku leading the charge.

The forward netted a remarkable hat-trick, scoring twice in the first half and adding another in the second. An own goal from Barrow goalkeeper Paul Farman further compounded the visitors' woes, while Pedro Neto's strike sealed the comprehensive win.

Though Acheampong enjoyed a memorable outing at Stamford Bridge, it was a tough night for Emile Acquah, another English player of Ghanaian descent, who featured for Barrow AFC in the one-sided defeat.
