Kevin Prince Boateng is once again on the move as the journeyman descends into the second tier of Italian football.

The Ghanaian midfielder is close to signing for Serie B side Monza after being deemed surplus to requirements at Fiorentina.

Boateng, 33, is close to joining the lower tier side and is set to undergo his medical examination before putting pen to paper by the weekend.

The well traveled player only joined Fiorentina last season from Sassuolo on a one year contract with an option for another year.

But midway through his stint with Fiorentina,he was shipped out on loan to Turkish side Besiktas but has now returned to Fiorentina after the loan.

At Besiktas, he made 11 Super Lig appearances for the Turkish club to help them finish third.

Newly promoted Monza is owned by former AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi with Adriano Galliani the CEO so it is not strange K.P Boateng who was twice signed for Milan by the two aforementioned person will join them at their club.

The journeyman will be playing for his 13th different club if the deal to Monza is to materialize.

Boateng who started his football with Eintracht Frankfurt has gone on to play for the likes of  Portsmouth, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Barcelona, Fiorentina,Borussia Dortmund,Tottenham Hotspur ,Besiktas among others.

He has 15 caps for the Black Stars and featured for Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 World Cup tournaments.
