President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has terminated the appointment of Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Ghana Guardian can report.

A statement from the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Mr Eugine Arhin indicates the termination takes effect from today, Friday, October 30, 2020.

The release explained that Mr Adjei's termination "follows the suspension of a report to the President by the Commissioner of the Commissions for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Mr. Joseph Whittal, in which the Commission concluded that, on the totality of the evidence, Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei had put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicted with the performance of his functions as CEO and Board Member of PPA."

President Akufo-Addo on August 22, 2019, suspended Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei after an investigative work by Manasseh Azure Awuni, was broadcasted on Joy News.

The investigations titled, “Contracts for Sale” implicated the CEO of the PPA on issues of conflict of interest.
