News reaching Ghanaguardian.com indicates former Interior Minister in the elsewhile Mahama administration, Hon Mark Owen Wayongo narrowly escaped death after the car in which he was travelling was involved in an accident.

The incident occurred Sunday evening when the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the the Navrongo Central constituency was returning from the NDC congress held in the Upper East region.

According to him, his V8 vehicle somersaulted and eventually veered off its track due to the slippery nature of the stretch, leading to the accident.

He and five other occupants of the vehicle were immediately rescued by residents nearby and rushed to the Mampong Hospital for treatment.

He said, he suffered a knock on his forehead and was treated and discharged together with three others who sustained minor injuries.
