Kumasi Asante Kotoko is close to adding combative Medeama midfielder Justice Blay to their ranks with the deal almost done that is according to the Medeama spokesperson Patrick Akoto.

The two sides have been locked in negotiations for weeks now but the two sides are close to reaching an agreement on a fee.

Patrick Akotoko made this revelation in an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM/TV on Monday.

''The transfer of Justice Blay to Asante Kotoko is almost done,'' Akoto said on Oyerepa FM/TV.

''In principle, both parties have agreed but yet to put pen on paper.

''The only thing left now is something like the payment terms, whether to pay in full or tranches.''

According to our sources Medeama wanted GHc70,000 for the player while Kotoko were of the opinion that it too pricey for a player who is entering the twilight of his career and also returning from a career threatening injury but it now appears an agreement has been found.

The only little detail being the mode of payment whether to amortize the fee or pay at once.

Blay sustained a season ending injury after a savage tackle from Legon Cities defender Joseph Adjei but should be fit to start the season.
