Hertha Berlin may have to play that daunting game against champions Bayern Munich without the services of their veteran midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng who is an injury doubt for Saturday's clash.

Boateng, 34, sustained an injury last weekend during their 2-1 home loss to Vfl Wolfsburg and was taken off in the 43rd minute with Stevan Jovetić his replacement.

The former Black Stars player could not finish the first half as he limped off with an injury.

He is now a major doubt for his side Hertha Berlin when they travel to the Allianz Arena to face Bayern Munich on Saturday in the Bundesliga clash.

He made his Bundesliga debut for Hertha Berlin in August 2005 and - after time spent in England, Italy, Spain and Turkey as well as at several other German clubs - he returned in June 2021.

Born to a German mother and Ghanaian father, the veteran midfielder broke through at Hertha around the same-time as his half-brother Jerome Boateng.

While Jerome moved on to Hamburg and Manchester City before enjoying a hugely successful period at Bayern Munich, his older sibling initially headed for London in 2007.

He has featured in the side's opening two games of the season so far until the recent setback.
