The much-anticipated transfer of Black Stars winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton to Ajax Amsterdam has collapsed, according to a report from renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano.
Romano confirmed on his X (formerly Twitter) account that the deal, which had been under review by FIFA after Ajax submitted the transfer documents at the final minutes of the summer transfer window, has ultimately fallen through.
Earlier reports suggested that Ajax was eager to bring in Sulemana as a replacement for Steven Bergwijn, who recently made a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
Despite Ajax's intense last-minute efforts to finalize the transfer, the deal failed to materialize, ending hopes of Sulemana joining the Dutch club.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian winger, who began his career at the Right to Dream Academy, has yet to play in the 2024-2025 season due to an injury.
This setback has also excluded him from Ghana's squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
