Ghana on Monday beat the Gambians at the penultimate stage of the competition, and Mboge admitted it was a fair result.

"Congrats to your team, they came up with a game plan to stop us and we didn't have the answers," he said in an interview with Ash FM.

"Hats off to Coach Zito, he should be looked after over there, great tactical brain and it was a pleasure to battle against him.

"We've shown that local coaches can be trusted. I'm proud of my players, staff and country and also proud of Ghana and I'm sure they will represent West Africa well in the final, we will be supporting them"

The Black Satellites  sealed a place in the U-20 AFCON final after a 1-0 victory over The Gambia courtesy a first half free-kick from Percious Boah.

Ghana grabbed their lead with about ten minutes to the half-time break from a set piece when Daniel Barnieh was brought down at the edge of the box.

It was the second time the two teams were meeting in the tournament after their last group clash where Gambia beat Ghana by 2-1 to book a Quater Final place.

Ghana will play in the final for the first time since 2013.

The three time winners will have the opportunity to clinch the title for the first time since 2009 on Saturday.
