Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has made his pick on which of the late Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko’s widows deserve to replace him as MP for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

Constituents of the area have been divided over who to succeed the late MP, with his ‘two wives’ reportedly battling for the slot.

A section of the NPP supporters are on the side of Madam Lydia Agyarko, while others are also clamouring for Josephine Nana Baiden Agyarko, believed to be the current and second wife of the late Agyarko,

A bye-election is in the offing to elect a successor for the late MP who is yet to be buried.

Giving his opinion on the issue, Mr. Agyapong said he is shocked that things have gotten to this level.

He, however, backed the first wife of the deceased MP, insisting she is the right person to succeed him.

According to the outspoken lawmaker, Madam Lydia Agyarko actively campaigned for the late MP and was very supportive in the 2016 elections.

Speaking on Adom TV’s “Badwam”, Mr. Agyapong said Madam Lydia Agyarko has what it takes to unite the people of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

The late Agyarko passed on last month while on admission in the UK at the age of 61.

The lawmaker was reportedly battling with an illness and had been admitted at the Ridge Hospital in Accra before being sent abroad after his condition stabilised.

However, his condition rather worsened leading to his death in the UK.
