AFROBEATS artiste, KiDi, turned 25 on Saturday, August 18 and he chose to celebrate in style with 99 of his female fans at the Cockpit, a bar and restaurant inside the Achimota Mall.

The well attended event saw performances from some of the finest voices in the music industry now including Adina, MzVee, King Promise, Sister Derby and Mr Eazi, who all came to support KiDi with some beautiful ladies also showing up.

The event was a combination of a birthday celebration and a brief listening session where the fans were treated to two songs from KiDi’s yet-to-be released songs.

The Highlife Song of the Year winner at the 2018 VGMA entertained the audience with classic songs from renowned names in the Ghanaian music industry such as Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah, Daddy Lumba and Samini, before finally performing his popular releases.

He was in his element as he threw in a few surprises on the night including singing to his mother on stage.  He said it was a night for all the special ladies in his life and described his mother as the number one lady in his life.

Another surprise was when KiDi performed his brand new unreleased single, Thunder Fire Me. The fans sang along to the easy and catchy chorus. “The song will be out later in the week but this is an exclusive to you my special ladies”, he said.

He also gave the fans the opportunity to listen to one of the tracks he said he loved which was denied airplay due to its explicit content.

The song, Heels On, was enjoyed by the ladies who screamed in excitement when he repeated some of the lines. However, for fans who just couldn’t get enough of the song, he said the song was available on his Soundcloud account.

KiDi thanked his fans for coming to support him and said that the show was very dear to him. “This is a very emotional moment for me because this is the first time I am doing a show all by myself,” he explained.
