Board member of SC Freiburg, Jochen Saier says that the qualities of Black Stars midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh endeared the player to his side.

After a long protracted transfer move, the midfielder has finally settled on Freiburg as they have reached an agreement with FC St. Pauli for his transfer.

He says that their new signing has exceptional abilities with the ball and is intelligent and goal oriented among others.

“Kofi has an exceptional amount of creativity with the ball, is intelligent and goal-oriented. These qualities will help us and do our game good,” says board member Jochen Saier. "He is a player who has developed step by step over the past few years and has quickly adapted to each higher level. Kofi still has potential and his game can be even more complete - we will work on that together."

St. Pauli will receive around €4.5 million for Kyereh, who scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 32 games through the 2021/22 season.

The 26-year-old Ghana international joined St. Pauli from Wehen Wiesbaden ahead of the 2020/21 campaign. In his two seasons with the Boys in Brown he made a total of 67 competitive appearances and was involved in 43 goals (22 goals, 21 assists).

Kyereh also made the step up to international football during this time and has since played twelve times for Ghana.
