Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong is cautiously optimistic about his side’s chances ahead of tonight's CAF Confederation Cup match against Zimbabwe champions Zesco United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Zesco currently lead Group C on 3 points after beating bottom placed Nkana 2-0 at home in Ndola on February 3.

Hosts Kotoko are third on zero points following a 1-0 away loss in Sudan against Al Hilal in Khartoum on February 3.

The 27 year old in an interview with the GNA Sports said, the Porcupine Warriors are well prepared to host the table leaders in a match he predicts would be "difficult".

He said, he was confident of a victory, but called on the club teeming supporters to be the team's extra strength and help them to victory.

“This game would be very difficult because Zesco is a good and experienced side when it comes to Africa, but we would work hard on Wednesday to gain the important three points.”

“The most important thing is the three points and even 1-0 win, would give us three points, so we are going into the game to win”.
