Asante Kotoko secured a fourth-place finish in the Ghana Premier League despite suffering a 3-1 defeat to Vision FC at the Nii Kraku Adjei II Sports Complex.
The Porcupine Warriors edged out arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on head-to-head record, both sides having finished level on points.
Kotoko took an early lead through an own goal by Vision’s Lord Xorse Kudzinya, but the hosts responded in style. A brace from Frank Duku and a strike from Edmund Asante turned the game around, handing Kotoko a disappointing loss to close out the season.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak ended their campaign on a high with a 1-0 victory over dethroned champions FC Samartex 1996 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Defender Konadu Yiadom netted the only goal in the 57th minute, giving the Phobians their first-ever Premier League win against Samartex in Accra.
Despite the win, Hearts settled for fifth place, narrowly missing out on fourth due to their inferior head-to-head record against Kotoko.
