Kumasi Asante Kotoko pummeled Bibiani Gold Stars by a whooping 5-0 on Sunday night at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the match day 20 clash of the Ghana Premier League game.

The win came at a cost to the porcupine warriors as they lost two key stalwarts in their defense with captain Abdul Ismail Ganiyu pulling out with an injury very late before kick off with Andrews Appau his replacement.

As if that was not enough, left back Imoro Ibrahim who played very well on the day sustained an injury late in the game and had to be taken off.

Speaking after the match, Kotoko gaffer, Prosper Nartey downplayed Ganiyu's injury saying it was a precaution they took not to play him and will be fit for their next fixture.

But with regard to Imoro Ibrahim, he says it will require further test before they can ascertain the extent of the injury.

"Ganiyu injury isn't that bad but then we had to rest him because in the warm up he complained so we thought it wise that we have an equally competent centre-back in the person of Appau so we decided that we should rest him.

"I'm not sure he will be away for long. He will play in the next game. Imoro's injury is a bit serious but the medical team will examine him tomorrow so I'm expecting an update on him."

Kotoko will play against Techiman Eleven Wonders away from home in their next fixture.
