Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has emphasized the importance of securing an early goal in their upcoming fixture against Nsoatreman FC, scheduled for this afternoon, October 2, 2024.
The Porcupine Warriors are eager to take full control of the game early on to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
The match, originally set for Matchweek 2, was rescheduled due to Nsoatreman FC's involvement in the CAF Confederations Cup.
After three matches, Kotoko has recorded two draws and one victory, and Ogum’s side is determined to claim all three points this time around.
Speaking ahead of the much-anticipated encounter, Ogum outlined his strategy of pressing for an early goal to dictate the flow of the game.
He believes that scoring early will help his team settle into their rhythm and control the match.
"We need to try as much as possible to bury the chances that come our way early in the game so that we can settle into the game, have our rhythm, and then get into our flow," Coach Ogum explained.
"If we are able to convert the chances early, it will give us some stability and rhythm in the game."
The match will take place at Kotoko's new base, Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, with kick-off at 15:00 GMT (3:00 p.m.). Kotoko will be looking to extend their unbeaten run and climb up the league table.
