Kumasi Asante Kotoko have failed with their bid to sign Ugandan striker Stephen Mukwala  for the upcoming season.

The club has been locked up in talks with the striker and his club but talks have broken down as both parties disagree on terms of payment.

Dese Mukwala, 21, is a player for Ugandan side Vipers SC but was farmed out on loan to Maroons FC where he starred an became topscorer of the Ugandan Premier League.

The porcupine warriors were in advanced talks with the player's club and was hopeful of reaching an agreement very soon.

It hit the rocks as  the Ugandan Striker demanded full payment of his enticement fee be paid to him before signing the contract with Kotoko.

The club have now set their sights on former Ashantigold captain and strike Shafiu Mumuni who is now a free agent.

Stephen Mukwala finished the season with 13 goals in 23 appearances to emerge as the goal king in the Ugandan league for 2019/2020 season.
