Kumasi Asante Kooko is set to open contract extension talks with  integral midfielder Mudasiru Salifu according to reports emanating from Kumasi.

The central midfielder joined Asante Kotoko in 2019 on a three year deal after spells with Tunisian club CS Sfaxien and Tanda FC of Ivory Coast.

But the  deputy Kotoko  skipper's contract  will run out at the end of the current season with several foreign clubs monitoring  his  situation.

The player has been linked with a free  transfer move to Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

Kotoko who are currently leading the Ghana Premier League standing with 52 point are keen not to lose the influential player for free and talks will open with the player's entourage in the coming days.

The former Cheetah FC product has scored two goals in 22 games for the Porcupine Warriors in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko's prime asset is valued at €125,000 by transfer website transfermarkt.com.
