Asante Kotoko's Assistant Coach, David Ocloo, voiced disappointment following the team's recent loss to Heart of Lions in a Ghana Premier League showdown in Kpando, highlighting their inefficiency in front of goal.

The Porcupine Warriors, riding high on a commendable seven-game unbeaten streak, saw their impressive run halted by a surprising defeat to Heart of Lions last Saturday.

Despite entering the match as favorites, Kotoko struggled to carve out clear-cut opportunities against a resolute Heart of Lions side.

The breakthrough for the home team arrived in the 52nd minute courtesy of a goal from forward Godfred Asamoah Kwadwo.

Kotoko's plight worsened when defender Nicholas Mensah received his marching orders in the 59th minute after being shown a second yellow card.

David Ocloo acknowledged the team's promising performance in the first half but lamented their inability to convert chances into goals.

He stressed the imperative of refining their finishing skills and expressed determination to stage a stronger comeback in future matches.

“I believe our boys performed well, particularly in the first half. We managed to create some promising chances but failed to capitalize on them.

When you squander opportunities, your opponents can capitalize on them. We need to focus on improving our finishing once more and come back stronger," Ocloo remarked post-match.

He also commended Heart of Lions for their tenacity and recognized their well-deserved victory, stating, "I cannot take anything away from them. They played exceptionally well.

Their determination paid off, and they earned the result. Congratulations to them.”

Looking ahead, Kotoko aims to return to winning ways as they prepare to face Bibiani Gold Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium.
