Asante Kotoko's season woes continued as they fell 1-0 to Bechem United at Nana Gyeabour Park on Sunday, marking their third successive defeat in the league.

The latest loss follows setbacks against Legon Cities and Heart of Lions, pushing Kotoko down to sixth in the league standings and allowing arch-rivals Hearts of Oak to move ahead.

Bechem United secured victory with a standout goal from Kofi Tompuo, who struck a powerful long-range effort past Kotoko's goalkeeper Mohamed Camara in the 27th minute.

Despite their greater number of attempts (nine shots compared to Bechem’s seven), Kotoko's inefficiency in front of goal was glaring, as they failed to record a single shot on target.

Bechem United slightly edged possession with 51%, utilizing their defensive discipline to thwart Kotoko’s offensive efforts and maintain their lead.

Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum now faces mounting pressure, especially after citing player fatigue as a reason for the team's declining form.

With an important local derby against Nations FC looming, Ogum’s future could be uncertain if Kotoko’s fortunes do not improve.

Bechem United, currently in ninth place, will hope to build on this momentum in their upcoming clash with Berekum Chelsea. Kotoko, meanwhile, must regroup urgently to reverse their recent slide and stabilize their season.
