Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has backed his former coach Nico Kovac to turn things around at Bayern Munich.

Bayern are currently sitting fifth in the Bundesliga table having won only four of their opening seven games and are without a victory in all competitions in four matches.

The Croatian manager has had to endure a difficult start to life at the Allianz Arena but Boateng insists Kovac needs more time.

" He needs time", the Ghanaian told Sport Bild. “But at big clubs but you do not have that luxury. I do not see it as bad as everyone says. It is nice that it is exciting again in Germany, because it is not running in Bayern’s favor. That should be seen positively. And Bayern will attack hard again, either now or at least after the winter break. Niko will pack that, I trust him 100 percent. "

The 31 year old attacker who left Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and joined the Italian first division side US Sassuolo spoke about his new experience.

" It's going well, it's fun. We have a very young but also a very strong team. Italy is perfect for the age I am in and for my playing style. And the league has grown. The teams are strong, they play good football in the Champions League, and you realize: Italian football is coming back. "
