West Ham United's current manager, David Moyes, is set to leave his role when his contract expires next month, the club has announced.

This news means Ghanaian midfielder Kudus Mohammed will be working under a new coach at the English club next season.

Moyes, 61, has been at the helm for four and a half years and has overseen significant progress at the London club. However, a recent string of poor results, including a 5-0 defeat by Chelsea, has led to increasing pressure on the Scotsman.

"I have enjoyed four and a half brilliant years at West Ham, and the club is in a stronger position than when I returned back in 2019,” Moyes commented.

During his tenure, Moyes guided West Ham to Europa Conference League success last season, marking their first major trophy in 43 years.

However, recent performances have seen the team struggle, with just one win in their last 10 games across all competitions.

"When I joined West Ham for a second time, the club was one place above the relegation zone, and it has been a terrific journey to have achieved three consecutive seasons in Europe,” Moyes reflected.

While Moyes's departure is imminent, discussions are underway for a potential replacement.

Former Spain and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui is reportedly close to making a return to management with the Hammers, following his departure from Wolves in August last year.

"I would like to thank all the players for their support, and all the success they have achieved, over the last four and a half years," Moyes expressed, acknowledging the contributions of the team during his tenure.

As Moyes prepares to bid farewell, the focus now shifts to the future direction of West Ham under potential new leadership.
