Popular Kumasi based actor, Kofi Adu widely known as Agya Koo has said the fall of Kumawood is due to his long absence because of being sidelined by some movie producers.

According to him, the Kumasi movie industry has been unable to survive after his hiatus and that is because he has been the reason the movie industry survived in the first place.

Expressing his dissatisfaction in an interview on Onua Fm’s ‘Anigye Mmre’ talk show with Christian Agyei Frimpong, Agya Koo revealed that Kumawood revived because of him and he is also the very reason why the movie industry is dying.

Agya Koo explained; “After I was sidelined, they forgot I had a huge following, and I took away my huge followers. They brought in new people to replace me, but they forgot Agya Koo’s followers are bigger than the actors that they replaced me with”.
