Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), Henry Asante Twum has confirmed that the GFA wants assistant coach of Borussia Dortmund, Otto Addo to replace his former boss Milovan Rajevac as the Black Stars coach.
Ghana has been without a coach since Milovan Rajevac was sacked after Ghana's disastrous perfomance at the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Light FM, Henry Asante Twum confirmed that the GFA President is in Germany trying to convince Otto Addo about the Ghana job.
"Yes the GFA President Kurt Okraku is in Germany and has held talks with Otto Addo and Dortmund to allow him take over as interim Black Stars coach to guide Black Stars against Nigeria in the World Cup play off because he has been with the team and knows the team because of the time factor of which the GFA will either confirm him or appoint a new coach in the long round" he said.
Over the last few days, there has been reports of bickering between the GFA and the Sports Ministry about who becomes the next Black Stars coach after the sacking of Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac.
The GFA is said to prefer Borussia Dortmund's assistant coach Otto Addo as the new Black Stars coach whiles the government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports also prefer Chris Hughton.
