Five more suspects have been arrested in connection with the deadly attack the Kwabenya Police Station, the police have announced.

The Five were arrested in Kasoa bringing to 11 the number of suspects arrested so far in connection with the attack that saw some cell inmates escaped.

A police statement on Saturday added that arrested suspects  include the  28-year-old Kofi Seshie who is believed to  have fired the fatal shot that killed Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi.

"This bring the number of arrests in the Kwabenya incident to 11. Six persons were arrested earlier this week, three of whom are re-arrested fugitives and three accomplices who facilitated the attack and escape", the statement from the police stated

The Ghana Police, after the deadly attack,  launched a manhunt for the freed suspects and the attackers.

The others are George Sarba, 23, George Asante, 33, Theophilus Banda, 25, and Elvis Owusu, 31.

Inspector Ashilevi was shot in the wee hours of Sunday, January 21, when gunmen attacked the station to free seven suspects who were being held over offences related to armed.

He died later tat the 37 Military Hospital where he had been taken for treatment.
