The people of Ankoma and other 11 communities in the Kwahu East district of the Eastern region could not hide their joy after a thrift shop was commissioned in their favour.

A thrift shop is a shop that sells secondhand household goods and is often run for charitable purposes.

The shop, established by the Bryan Acheampong Foundation as part of its social services to purposely assist very poor older people in the area.

Haruna Zaid, the Social Intervention Programs Manager for Bryan Acheampong Foundation indicated the foundation has taken the aged so dear to their heart to help them.

According to him, the foundation has provided items into the store for free where the beneficiaries will provide their ID cards for the attendant to serve the person depending on the things one would request for.

He added that “It’s important to remember that this program is made possible by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi Constituency, Bryan Acheampong.

The Chief of Ankoma, Nana Amenano Koduah II on his side commended the MP for thinking about the aged in the area.

He pleaded with him to continue to support them to make ends meet, saying Ghanaians would not be suffering if we have had 100 MP's of his kind.
