Former Ghana U23 midfielder Kwame Poku has been named the League One Player of the Month for October after another standout month with Peterborough United.

Poku, who also claimed the award in September, continued his stellar form by scoring two goals and providing four assists in six matches during October, helping him secure the accolade for the second consecutive month.

“I am obviously delighted to win the award and over the moon to be able to win it back-to-back.

I am happy with how things have been going and it is all about hard work and trying to be as consistent as I can," Poku said after receiving the award.

"While I didn’t score as many goals last month as the previous one, I am just as happy creating goals as scoring them. Hopefully, I can keep those numbers strong during the month of November!”

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson also praised the Ghanaian midfielder for his exceptional contributions to the team, stating, “It is a fantastic achievement for Kwame to win back-to-back Player of the Month awards and is wonderful recognition for the way that he has performed.

He has followed up his form in September with another strong month in October and has been a real threat. He continues to create and score goals for us and is in a really good place at the minute.”

Poku's impressive performances have played a key role in Peterborough's strong start to the season as they look to challenge for promotion in League One.
