Sudan coach Kwesi Appiah has firmly stated that financial considerations will not play a role in any potential return to the role of head coach for the Black Stars.

Appiah, who has managed Ghana in two separate stints, is currently overseeing the Sudan national team, where he recently led them to qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco at the expense of Ghana.

Despite the possibility of receiving a lucrative offer, Appiah emphasized that financial terms, even as high as $1 million per week, would not be a deciding factor in his decision.

"Is it the $1m that will be given to me every week? What will that do? At my age, I don’t value money; I do things from my heart," Appiah stated in an interview on the BKB show.

Appiah clarified that his focus is on his current role with Sudan, where he has faced challenges but remains dedicated to the team’s success.

He reiterated that his passion for coaching and achieving success for his team are his main priorities, not financial incentives.

"I do not need to worry myself with anything," Appiah added, underscoring that his commitment to coaching comes from a place of heart, rather than financial motivation.
