In a thrilling encounter at the Madina Astro Turf, Army Ladies staged a remarkable comeback to secure a spot in the Women's FA Cup final with a 2-1 victory over lower-tier side Epiphany Warriors on Saturday.

Eager to clinch a final spot after missing out last season, Army Ladies and Epiphany Warriors battled fiercely from the outset.

Despite both sides creating goal-scoring opportunities in the opening half, it was Epiphany Warriors who struck first just before halftime.

Latifa Mohammed's own goal gave the Greater Accra Women's Division One League side a well-deserved lead.

However, Army Ladies rallied in the second half, with Adama Alhassan finding the equalizer in the 60th minute to keep their title hopes alive.

With the match deadlocked at 1-1 in regulation time, the game proceeded to extra time.

In the first half of extra time, Sonia Opoku came agonizingly close to restoring Epiphany Ladies' lead, hitting the post with her effort.

But it was substitute Vera Bema who proved to be the hero for Army Ladies, netting the winner in the 112th minute to send her team into the FA Cup final for the first time.

Despite Epiphany Ladies' relentless pressure for an equalizer, Army Ladies held firm to secure the 2-1 victory, booking their spot in the final.

Army Ladies will now face Police Ladies in the final of the 2023/24 FA Cup, with both teams vying for the prestigious trophy.
