Ghanaian referee Benjamin Kwame Sefah has dissociated himself from an alleged audio tape circulating on various social media platforms purported to be him and someone fixing a match involving Asante Kotoko in Berekum Chelsea in the MTN FA Cup semi finals.

In the supposed audio someone is heard haggling with the referee to take an amount of money so that Kotoko will lose the match.

The referee says that the audio is not his voice as he did not speak with any person before, during or after the MTN FA Cup game between Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea.

He has therefore called on the Ghana Football Association as a matter of urgency institute a probe into the audio tape that is claiming the match was fixed.

According to the referee the voice note is neither that of his assistant referees and will be happy if the matter is investigated.

Referee Sefa Spoke in an interview with Accra based Asempa FM and denied his involvement in any such heinous act.

“I have listened to the voice note, and have heard the Audios making rounds, Its not my voice, neither is it the voice of any of the other Assistants for that game”

“I have never spoken to any person related to the gentlemen in question, and never spoke to any person during and after the game”.

Referee Sefa further called on the Ghana FA to investigate the allegations leveled against him and his colleagues

“I call for the Ghana FA to investigate those involved in the audio, I will be extremely happy to have the matter investigated”.
