Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has also wished Ghanaians a Happy Independence Day celebration.
Ghana gained independence from Britain on this day in 1957.
The year-long celebration will be marked with a series of events. But today, as has been the tradition over the years, there will be a march past of schoolchildren, security services, and the unions at the Independence Square.
