Korle Klottey Member of Parliament(MP), Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has cautioned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against arrogance following their victory in the 2024 election.
Dr Zanetor has urged the rank and file of the party to prioritise its good image and principles of the revolution, which played a crucial role in Ghana’s democracy.
The daughter of the late NDC founder, Jerry John Rawlings, was speaking at the 43rd anniversary of the December 31st Revolution in Accra on Tuesday.
“We must not allow arrogance, pride, and hubris to fill our hearts because of this victory, as that will be the beginning of our downfall.
“We must maintain humility, we must maintain integrity, and we must uphold the principles on which the revolution was founded, which finally gave birth to this Fourth Republic that we are now striving to restore,” she said.
The MP asserted that, but for the strong foundation his late father and the NDC laid, Ghana would have been plunged into chaos.
“My dear comrades, if the foundation on which this Fourth Republic was built was not strong enough, believe me, Ghana would have descended into chaos by now,” she noted.
She further urged members of the incoming government to uphold and maintain this legacy.
“We have a legacy that we can hold on to, and it is something that we must return to,” she said.
