Ghanaian teen sensation Abdul Fatawu Isahaku was destined for German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen but that has changed as Liverpool have entered the race.

The 17 year old midfielder who is in Germany was discussing the finer details of his move but a last ditch offer from the English side has given the player and his representatives a rethink.

It appeared Bayer Leverkusen had beaten off stiff competition from Liverpool, Ajax, and a host of other clubs as confirmed by local media reports but Liverpool have entered the race.

According to sources any deal that will be agreed will look at opportunity for first team football and his career progression which Leverkusen can easily guarantee than Liverpool.

The Steadfast FC midfielder emerged as the player of the tournament at the 2021 U-20 AFCON in Mauritania which Ghana won.

He was outstanding at the tournament churning out impressive performances at the tournament earning a place in the Black Stars B friendly match against Uzbekistan and scoring Ghana's only goal.

Fatawu Isahaku was in March handed a call up to the Black Stars B for a friendly match against Uzbekistan were he shone by scoring a goal and has this time been elevated to the Black Stars proper.

He has been an integral figure in Steadfast FC's promotion push from the lower tier league with his impressive output.

Ghana U-20 star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is the only player from Ghana'a second tier league to be handed a call up to the Black Stars.

It is believed his club Steadfast FC want at least £2million for the player.
