President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday assured the supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) that there is no way the party's victory in the upcoming election will be undermined as far as he remains the commander-in-chief.

The president also revealed  there are strong indications that "some people'  are involved in acts that will call for the need of power sharing, but said it will never happen.

Addressing party supporters at a mini rally at Kawokudi park in Mamobi, Accra, President Mahama accused the NPP of harboring the intention to discredit the elections by a "deliberate carefully planned move" to make the EC look bad in the eyes of the public.

The NDC flag bearer said he believes in the credibility of the Electoral Commission and believes the election is going to be free and fair by which the NDC will come out victors.

"I know that the elections are going to be free and fair. The NPP has a deliberate carefully planned move so that when the NDC had won they will create the basis to say they don't accept the result, but as long as I remained the Commander-in-Chief, our victory will never  be undermined"he said

"It is their plan to gain another opportunity to go to supreme court again by their constant attack on the Electoral Election.We are going to win clean and there is not going to be any power sharing as some people hope to try to  trigger out   power sharing.It will not happen."

ATTACK ON THE EC CHAIR

The EC chair madam Charlotte Osei, has come under a lot verbal attacks from the NPP, accusing her of  being unfair in the application of the electoral laws ahead of this year’s polls.

The NPP MP for Assin central Mr Agyapong, accusing her of trading sex for her position, a statement that received widespread condemnation in the country

However, President Mahama , described these accusation on the EC chair as   “an old trick meant to vilify the referee [EC] and reduce the credibility of the referee in the eyes of the public. knowing very well that they are going to lose so that they will say the election was not credible."

 The mini rally at Mamaobi  on Sunday was used to introduce o the people some of the NDC's parliamentary candidates.

It was preceded by an early morning health walk, which saw  the president and other party stalwarts taking part.The President called on Ghanaians to continue with the health walk even after the election to ensure people remain healthy and  to ensure good and healthy  life.
