Maccabi Tel Aviv has completed the signing of Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Tyrese Asante, aiming to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

The 22-year-old joins the Israeli giants on a three-year contract with an option for an additional year, following successful completion of his medical.

Asante arrives from Dutch club ADO Den Haag, where he established himself with 32 appearances last season and a total of 98 appearances across all competitions since his arrival in July 2021.

Starting his youth career at Feyenoord and Sparta Rotterdam, Asante made his senior debut at HV and CV Quick at the age of 18, showcasing his early promise and talent.

Expressing his enthusiasm about joining Maccabi Tel Aviv, Asante stated, "I am really happy to be here and sign for the biggest club in Israel.

I am looking forward to playing in front of the Maccabi fans at Bloomfield Stadium and ready to contribute to more title wins. Let's make this season a successful one."

Asante's addition is expected to bolster Maccabi Tel Aviv's defense significantly, adding depth and experience to their backline as they aim for success in domestic and potentially European competitions in the upcoming season.
