Former president John Dramani Mahama has penned a heartfelt message to Ghanaians, detailing his gratitude for their support.

Mahama took to Facebook on New Year’s day to thank Ghanaians for supporting him in his over two decades of service to the country.

He said Ghanaians must strive for more in 2019, adding that the New Year signified a fresh start for everyone.

“The New Year, 2019, brings with it the promise of a fresh start, and an opportunity to renew our resolve to strive for greater and better goals.

“For me, this extends beyond the personal, as I owe you all my fellow Ghanaians, a debt of gratitude for your support and prayers in my twenty-two (22) years of public service,” Mahama wrote.

He also prayed for abundant grace upon all Ghanaians as they begin the New Year.

The ex-president said it is his hope that God will see all citizens “through another year, with His love and blessings.”

Mahama is gunning to become the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), with the party expected to go to the polls early this month.
