Kofi Asare Brako, popularly known as Abatey - Spokesperson and Personal Assistant (PA) for the Minister of Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, is rallying Ghanaians to vote against the former President and flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama since he failed to do 'absolutely nothing' on sports infrastructure when he was the leader of this country.

Speaking in an interview with Peace News Friday afternoon, Abatey, as he is affectionately called, said the NDC in its 2012 manifesto under the leadership of Mr. Mahama promised to construct multipurpose sports complexes across the country but ended up doing 'absolutely nothing' on the sector before leaving office in 2016.

He said the NDC can boast of only three (3) sports infrastructure in Ghana; ie: the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium, Cape Coast Sports Stadium and Bukom Boxing Arena.

"The NDC under Mahama made many promises in its 2012 manifesto but they did nothing on sports infrastructure. Generally, they did only 3 things and that was even Prof Mills' time ...the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium, Bukom Boxing Arena [those were all Mills' projects] and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium [which was financed by the Chinese government", said Abatey.

He, therefore, called on all Ghanaian eligible voters to punish the NDC presidential candidate and rather give Nana Akufo-Addo 4 more years in the upcoming December general elections as according to him, Mr. Mahama has nothing good to offer this country, especially on the sector of sports.

"Under Isaac Asiamah as the Sports Minister, construction of 10 multipurpose sports complexes are currently ongoing in this country. The Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and Esipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi Takoradi are also under renovation works. Other sports development activities are taking place. Ghanaians now know that the NDC can never be compared to the NPP in terms of good governance so give Nana 4 more to do more for you", he added.
