Former President John Dramani Mahama has launched a blistering attack on a number of institutions and Ghanaians, for supporting the NPP and its Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a stunning tirade captured on camera during a campaign engagement, the former President attacked the chieftaincy institution, the Clergy and Imams, describing them as hypocrites, for supporting the NPP and Bawumia, and not being with him and the NDC.

"We are all in this country. We have pastors here, we have Imams here, we have Chiefs here and we have civil society groups here. But when NDC says something, it is like we are alone. All these people have to unite with us so that we tell this government about its wickedness to Ghanaians; that it is time for then to go," said former President Mahama.

"But no, you don't see that. You rather see Chiefs commending them that they have done good jobs. In the churches, you see pastors praying for him (Bawumia) that the government has done a good job, so we bless you and pray for your victory."

"He goes to traditionalists and they sprinkle wine on their shrines and tell him oh you have done so well so our ancestors are for you," added the former President.

"How can you all wish for such a foolish government to win," Mahama added.

The former President even went on and suggested that what is happening now under the NPP government would have resulted in a coup if it was the NDC in charge.

"If all these things happening under NPP government, if it was the NDC, there would have been a coupe detat. If this level of corruption and all the bad things we are seeing under the Nana Addo/Bawumia government had happened under the NDC, there would have been a coupe detat.

"They are hypocrites but I am confident that the NDC will win".
