President-elect John Dramani Mahama has officially met with outgoing President Akufo-Addo to inaugurate Ghana’s 2024 National Transition Team, marking a key step in the peaceful transfer of power.

The meeting took place on Wednesday, December 11, at Jubilee House in Accra, facilitating a smooth transition from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Addressing the gathering, Mahama pledged to uphold unity and stability as his administration prepares to take office.

“President Akufo-Addo has provided an overview of the security situation, both domestic and international, as well as a briefing on the economy. The transition teams will delve deeper into these issues, and we are committed to working together in Ghana’s best interest to ensure a smooth transition,” he stated.

President Akufo-Addo also echoed his support for a smooth transition process.

“I assure him [Mahama] of my full cooperation and that of my government throughout the transition to ensure his administration begins on a solid foundation,” he remarked.
