Mahama storms Northern Region Oct. 2

Former President John Dramani Mahama will continue his re-election campaign tomorrow Tuesday, 2 October 2018 in the Northern Region.
His tour forms part of his campaign to interact with delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as he seeks to lead the party in the 2020 General elections.
Mr Mahama is seeking the mandate of delegates to lead the NDC in the 2020 presidential elections.
He is scheduled to visit every constituency in the Northern Region during his five-day tour.
Mr Mahama will remind party delegates of the importance of the upcoming flag bearer polls and encourage them to participate in the polls.
He will also urge party members to work together following the constituency and regional executive elections of the NDC.
Last week, Mr Mahama started his campaign in the Central Region where he met with delegates and addressed them on a wide range of issues, including the economy.
Among other things, the former president is promising to work towards a reduction in the high cost of living as well as provide jobs and complete the projects started by his government.
Mr Mahama, through Mr Daniel Ohene Agyekum, former Ambassador to the United States, presented his official letter of intent to run for the flag bearer slot, to the party’s Adabraka headquarters on Thursday, 23 August 2018.
His letter of intent was presented on his behalf by a group of party heavy weights including former ministers of state like Inusah Fuseini and Sherry Ayitey.
Mr. Mahama comes against a lineup of aspirants which includes the Nadowli Kaleo MP, Alban Bagbin, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah, Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah; a former Trade and Industry Minister; Former Vice Chancellor of the University for Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi and Cape Coast South MP, and Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, Stephen Atubiga, Former Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu who have declared their intent to contest for the slot.
Meanwhile, the NDC has slated December 7, 2018, for the election of its flagbearer for the 2020 presidential election.
