There are growing concerns about John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to fighting corruption as he prepares to take office in 2025.

These concerns are particularly fueled by the involvement of Alfred Woyome, a figure previously found guilty of corruption and ordered to repay misappropriated funds.

His continued association with the political scene has raised doubts about Mahama’s stance on addressing corruption in his upcoming administration.

A Facebook user, Kwame Amporful, sparked engagement on this issue, questioning whether Mahama has made any public commitment to protect the public purse and effectively fight corruption.

"Has JM stated anywhere that he will protect the public purse? Should we genuinely expect him to fight corruption? And, if so, will it lead to real change?" he asked.

Barnabas Nii Laryea, a known thought leader, also voiced concerns, particularly about Woyome’s role in the NDC's electoral strategy.

Commenting on Amporful’s post, Laryea expressed uncertainty about what to expect, stating,

"With Woyome speaking on electoral issues for the NDC, I’m not exactly sure what to expect, but still some glimmer of hope. Let’s see the list of ministers and decide our next steps."

While many others shared similar concerns, they urged patience, suggesting that Ghanaians should wait until Mahama is formally sworn in before passing judgment on his administration's approach to corruption.
