Special aide to Former President John Dramani Mahama has said the 'obinim sticker' comments by her boss which has been described by many as a mockery to President Akufo-Add0 was just a joke.

According to Mrs. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the comment which is nothing serious, should be treated as such instead of the controversies created about it.

Mr Mahama on Saturday in Wa, Upper West Region, during the main opposition National Democratic Congress’ Unity Walk said: “NPP is super incompetent and we cannot sit down and relax and say because of their super incompetence, we are going to win the elections.

“We must work hard to convince the electorate that we deserve to be voted back to power, so, we won’t depend on their super incompetence.

"The incompetence is so bad. I have been watching social media and there is some new thing that has come that cures everything, they call it Obinim Sticker, the president and his government need Obinim sticker.”

“I have been watching social media lately, and there’s something that has come, and I think it cures everything. It’s the Obinim sticker, the President and his government need an Obinim sticker.

The comment which has not been received well by members and supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), as many have lashed out at the Former President.

Responding to the criticism, Mrs. Bawa Mogtari who spoke on StarrFM Monday stated even though the comment was a joke it was an uppercut to the Mr. Akufo-Addo.

“I think the comment from John Mahama was an upper cut if we were in a boxing arena…Obinim stickers have become a very topical issue. John Mahama was just kidding when he mentioned the Obinim sticker. It was just a joke and let’s take it as such.

She added; “I don’ think the joke on the Obinim Sticker was a bad joke. It was just a joke and we should take it as such.”
