Abdul Majeed Waris ended his two-and-a-half year year goal drought for the Black Stars in the 3-0 win over Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The on-loan Nantes forward last scored for Ghana in November 2015 when he opened the scoring in the 3-1 win over Togo at the Tamale Stadium in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Waris however broke his duck on Friday in the 21st minute after he connected home a pass from Isaac Sackey before shooting into the right bottom corner.
Second half goal from Emmanuel Boateng and Christian Atsu ensured Kwesi Appiah's men recorded a convincing win over the Kumasi-based giants.
The friendly match was organized after Ghana’s 2019 AFCON qualifying match against Sierra Leone was cancelled after FIFA suspended the West African country last week.
