Ghana striker Majeed Waris made his bow for FC Nantes in their 3-1 defeat at home to Monaco on Saturday in their opening French Ligue 1 match.

Waris was introduced in the 72nd minute to replace Kalifa Coulibaly but could not do much to affect the eventual outcome of the game.

The 26 year old is on a season-long loan move from Portuguese giants FC Porto.

Waris is expected to play a major role in the fortunes of  Nantes this season after swapping the Estádio do Dragão for Stade de la Beaujoire.
