Diminutive midfielder Abdul Manaf Umar on Saturday registered his first ever Premier League goal for Accra Hearts of Oak in a 2-1 victory over King Faisal FC.
The young lad was a man enough to carry a huge responsibility on his shoulders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park to restore the Phobians lead by he neatly converting a 90th minutes penalty to his credit,  giving coach Papic a sigh of relief.

It was the second successive penalty for the struggling Oak Tree in two matches, but a first of a lovely penalty story to tell in his goal scoring history.

Unlike left back Radi Ovouka, who missed a crucial spot kick against Aduana Stars in their rescheduled first week fixture three days earlier, Manaf Umar took his manly duty at that nervy moment to neatly grab his debut league goal in his second season for the Accra-based club.

He hit it right to his right, his precision was right as he outsmarted goalkeeper Kaisan to wrongly jump to the right and the jubilation came bright.

He had been phenomenal in the entire 90 minutes action on the field, combining with Abdul Aziz Nurudeen to execute a fantastic midfield duty, but King Faisal gave them a match to remember.

The Phobians had taken the lead in the first half through midfield Benjamin Afutu but things took a dramatic turn in the second half as Faisal grabbed the equaliser through Frimpong Boateng to put the game in both hands and in no one's absolute control.

It looked like the two teams were heading for a drawn game but the Phobians were more persistent in returning to Accra with a win.

Their resilience and ferocity in the never say die character paid off when a Faisal defender handled the ball in a goal melee.

And it was the slippery midfielder who took the responsibility to bring back the Rainbow family back into football ecstasy.

His effort was warmly appreciated by the few Phobian fans at the venue and they exhibited that in making cash donations to that young Arouras graduate, who is steadily seems to be growing to become one of the trusted feet of Kosta Papic.

He has been part of every game the team has played since the Serbian took over the mantle in a task to put the team in a fine fettle.

Saturday's win is only the second for Kosta Papic's side in six league matches this season and first in two matches outside the Accra Sports Stadium.
