Italian-Ghanaian forward Mario Balotelli is primed to make his debut for Genoa in their Serie A clash against Fiorentina tonight.

The 34-year-old marks his return to Italy after recent stints in Switzerland and Turkey, having joined Genoa on a season-long contract following his departure from Turkish side Adana Demirspor in May.

Balotelli, who signed with Genoa on a free transfer this summer, expressed excitement about stepping onto the field again.

"I'm pumped, I want to get started and I send my greetings to the fans. See you at the stadium," he said ahead of Thursday’s game, signaling his readiness to bring his experience to Genoa’s Serie A campaign.

This move brings Balotelli back to Italian football, where he has previously represented clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Brescia, his hometown team.

His last appearance in Italy was with AC Monza before playing abroad.

The veteran forward’s debut for Genoa will mark his 12th club appearance in his career, adding another chapter to his extensive and eventful football journey.
