Kwame Owusu, the Director General at the Ghana Maritime Authority has retired at the age of 65.

Mr Owusu's retirement comes on the back of some serious scandal that has been linked to his office in the month of October last year.

Speaking at the Meet the Press Series earlier today, the Transportation Minister Kwaku Ofori-Asiamah publicised the news.

In October last year, news broke out that the Maritime Authority had spent an amount of GHC 140k on food and drinks for its end of year party which triggered the call for his resignation.

Mr Asiamah stated that the Maritime Boss resigned by submitting his resignation letter to the President and expressing his gratitude for being giving the opportunity to serve the Ghana.
