As a sign of appreciation to the Nana Addo-led NPP government, over the introduction of the Planting for Food and Jobs, resulting in an unprecedented bumper harvest in the country, market women in the Ashanti region last Saturday, made a donation of several food items to the 2nd lady of Ghana.

The donation of the farm produce to the wife of the Vice president, Mrs Samira Bawumia, according to the market women, signifies the abundance of food owing to the government's flagship programme-PF&J.

The women during the presentation made mention of the fact that because food items are in abundance, prices have been reduced heavily which had made trading between them and their customers easy.

They want the second lady to extend their appreciation to the president, his vice and the minister for agric, Dr. Akoto, for the foresight in implementing such policies.

"These are the kind of policies that every straight-thinking government should do. And we really appreciate that. Indeed we didn't waste our votes and kindly extend our sincere thanks to the president and the Agric minister," the leader of the Atonsu market asserted.

Receiving the foodstuffs, the National Women's Organizer of the NPP, Kate Gyamfua, urged the market women to be the frontliners in championing the many practical policies of the government.
