Dutch tactician Martin Koopman became the first coach in 13 years to guide Hearts of Oak to a victory over any team coached by Maxwell Konadu.

Maxwell Konadu, the coach of Nsoatreman FC, had seemingly held sway over Hearts of Oak, regardless of the club he managed, as the Phobians struggled to secure wins against his teams.

During this lengthy period, Konadu had two coaching stints at Asante Kotoko and also managed Legon Cities, but Hearts of Oak couldn't manage to beat any of his teams.

However, that streak came to an end when Konadu was in charge of Nsoatreman FC, and they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak on matchday two of the Ghanaian championship.

The only goal of the match was scored by Congolese forward Ramos Kashala Wanet, giving Konadu his first league loss against Hearts.

Before this recent encounter, the only defeat Maxwell Konadu had against Hearts was in 2010 when his Wa All Stars team lost 3-0 to Hearts.

The 50-year-old coach managed not to lose to the Phobians in subsequent encounters, whether during his spells at Asante Kotoko from July 2011 to June 2012 or from December 2019 to December 2020.

Even during his tenure with Legon Cities FC between September 2021 and June 2023, Konadu maintained an unbeaten record against Hearts of Oak in their three meetings in the Ghana Premier League.
