Accra Hearts of Oak secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park, thanks to a 57th-minute goal from Mawuli Wayo in a tightly contested encounter.

Berekum Chelsea started brightly, pressing for an early advantage, but Hearts of Oak stood firm and gradually found their rhythm, creating several chances of their own.

However, both sides were wasteful in front of goal, and the first half ended goalless.

The breakthrough came early in the second half when Mawuli Wayo found the net with a well-placed strike, giving the Phobians a crucial lead.

Despite late pressure from the home side, Hearts of Oak held on to claim all three points.

The win lifts Hearts of Oak to fifth on the league table, now five points behind the top four, while Berekum Chelsea slip to 10th.
