The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has issued a stern warning to the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

Speaking on Adom TV, he stated that he would not sit down and watch Nketia, also known as General Mosquito, blame President Akufo-Addo for the Menzgold scandal.

He further noted that it is important that the matter is treated holistically devoid of politics so that a strategy could be implemented to retrieve locked up investments.

His caution comes after Mosquito reportedly said that the president is responsible for the Menzgold scandal because he is acquainted with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Nana Appiah Mensah.

"We have records to show that President Akufo-Addo knows NAM 1, and has been dealing with him, as well as Kwesi Nyantakyi.

He cannot dissociate himself from these two people. I have records of how President Akufo-Addo was using Kwesi Nyantakyi for his dealings", Asiedu Nketia said.

In response, Agyapong said he will not allow Mosquito and other NDC members to blame the president for their greed.

He added that the investors chose to do business with Menzgold at their own risk, and for that reason, they have no right to blame him.

He also revealed that some MPs sold their properties and invested in the gold firm and he believes that has angered some members of the opposition to make such claims.
